Environmental knowledge put to the test

Envirothon is one of the fastest-growing regional, state, and national competitions for high school students.

Five-member high school teams are tested on their knowledge of wildlife, soils, forestry, environmental policy, aquatics, and range management. There’s also a special focus on current environmental issues.

The Metro Regional Competition is open to all high school students in Douglas and Sarpy counties.

Event Timeline

  • Registration opens January
  • Registration closes early February
  • Metro Regional Competition late February
  • State Competition late April
  • Nationals Competition late July

The Metro Regional Competition on February 27th, 2025 will be held at the Natural Resources Center at Chalco Hills Recreation Area, located at 8901 S. 154th, Omaha, NE 68138. Testing will take place at 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
