Designed exclusively for 5th-grade students in Douglas and Sarpy counties, this environmentally focused field day incorporates active recreation with education about water’s complex life and impact on our lives.
Each class attends six water-related sessions taught by experts in the field from a variety of local and state agencies.

Test yourself on Nebraska’s wildlife as you learn about our unique snake, frog, and turtle species.
Students learn the importance of water quality in our streams and rivers. A three-dimensional landscape, called an Enviroscape ® model, demonstrates the movement of water and pollution through a watershed. Best management practices are examined to find solutions to stop pollution from occurring. Students gain insights into their responsibility in caring for the water around them and how everyone can do their part to keep it clean.
